Southampton Ukulele Jam

Southampton Ukulele Jam

Since forming in 2008, Southampton Ukulele Jam have been thrilling, confusing and occasionally frightening crowds along the South Coast – playing songs by everyone from The Stones and The Ramones to Jessie J and Lady Gaga in their own inimitable, ramshackle style. The jam meet every other Monday at the Talking Heads in Southampton and anyone with a ukulele is welcome to come along to these sessions or the gigs and join in.

There is also a thriving beginners and improvers group that meets at other venues on the Mondays in between, if that is what you are after – everyone is welcome at either night, plenty of people do both. There is no set membership, so gigs can have anything from 15 to 50 people playing, but The Beggars Fair is usually one of the jam’s biggest (and longest) gigs of the year, so you can be sure of a good, slightly chaotic, time with lots of audience participation and laughter.
