About Romsey

Romsey from the Abbey

Romsey town centre from the Abbey

Romsey is a thriving market town in Hampshire, situated about 8 miles northwest of Southampton, 11 miles southwest of Winchester and 18 miles southeast of Salisbury.

Known for it’s 11th century Norman Abbey, the medieval King John’s House, Lord Moutbatten’s stately home of Broadlands and the beautiful River Test.

There’s plenty to see and do in Romsey besides the Beggars Fair. In addition to the venues we use, there are many other establishments throughout the town to eat and drink at. A walk down to Memorial Park and onwards to Sadlers Mill and the River Test on a sunny day is a must.

Romsey TIC can be found at 13 Church Street, Romsey SO51 8BT 01794 512987 (in-between The Abbey Stage and King John’s Garden) and on Twitter.

Further local tourist information can be found on the Visit Romsey, RomseyNet, Visit Hampshire and Wikipedia.
