In September 2013 Ben was asked to represent Coffee House Sessions, led by Guy Robinson from Coalition Talent and Hew Stephens from Radio 1. He embarked on a 20-date UK tour of Universities during fresher’s week.
2013 also saw Ben nominated for Best of British Unsigned Male, play festivals and shows with Bastille, Mike Skinner from The Streets and finally headlining a show in his hometown, Southampton, to over 1000 fans. His single, “The Sun Shines”, entered the iTunes singer/songwriter charts @ No. 81 completely unsigned and with no management.
When Ben isn’t on the stage he works in studios writing for the BBC and his production & writing company – Square Ball Productions.
Ben Goddard has supported the likes of Nizlopi, Finley Quaye, Roddy Woomble of Idle Wild, Nick Howard, Andy Burrows of Razorlight, Ben Ottewell from Gomez and Sir Paul McCartney’s son James, amongst others. He’s played big festivals, small festivals and recorded a live session for BBC introducing.
He has a song on Aretha Franklin’s album (released in a national newspaper) and a sync with Creative to distribute a track on all of their MP3 players around the world.
In May 2014 Ben was the featured artist in Music Week and his his new record, ‘Rondel’, comes out in October.
